Completely Free Software -- The CFS site is designed as a browsing site – we have lots of high quality programs to offer but, unless you spend some time looking around, you may miss that “killer app” you just can’t live without. Go looking for an unzipping tool and you may end up grabbing an office suite as well! Stranger things have happened. Tucows -- Earned its name early on for being the first to provide software on a “freeware” or “shareware” basis, now offers 30,000 software titles through its network of more than 1000 partner sites globally, providing users with fast, local downloads.
ZDnet Downloads -- A "Biggie" and they've sort of teamed up with CNET to some extent. Some download links here lead to CNET pages. Worth a visit.
Cnet Downloads -- This is another "Biggie" and they have it all. There's lots of freeware here too, and you can use their search feature to find it, but be prepared to spend some time at it. This is a huge site!
Jumbo -- Still another "Biggie" place to get software on the web. Tons of stuff here, and much of it is freeware, but it can take a while to find.
Tudogs -- Access to TuDogs is restricted to TuDogs' newsletter subscribers. If you are in their newsletter database your entry will be validated. If not you'll be subscribed to the newsletter, but they do promise that your email address will never be released to others. Their name is a not-so-subtle play on another large and popular vendor of software, and not everyone wants to give their mailing address, but I'd say it was worth it. A good site for freeware.
Green Eclipse Software -- Claims to be home of some of the best free software you’ll find on the Internet, and I'd say they were more than worth checking out.

The Freeware Network -- Providing new, as well as experienced Internet users with a reference to free resources of the net.
ProgramFiles.com -- Free stuff, software, screensavers, contests, games, and more.
NeverExpires -- Freeware, Shareware and Demos that never stop running. Freeware submissions are scrutinized to ensure that they really are Freeware. Shareware submissions are accepted if the author offers a Lite Versions of their full-featured version of the registered Shareware program. However, the Lite Version must be useful enough to perform the primary function for which it was created. Game demos submissions are accepted if you can enjoy the game with the limited number of levels available. We attempt to find out how much of each Game Demo is playable and pass that information on to you. Adware submissions identified as "Supported by Advertising" are accepted. We just want to be able to pass that information on to you. Adware is a great concept. If you are concerned, contact the author to find out what Advertising Program they are using to provide income for their work. Once you have identified the Advertising Program, you can then do some research. Please read both positive and negative articles on Advertising Programs before you make a decision to download the software.
Freeware World Team -- The Lost Freeware World is a world where they keep the freeware treasures that for one reason or another are no longer available on the World Wide Web. In some cases the author stopped supporting the software, sometimes freeware became shareware and sometimes a program just faded away. Their team tries to keep those jewels alive by collecting them and give you the opportunity to download them.
Simtel.Net -- A worldwide distribution network for Shareware, Freeware, and Public Domain software.
FreewareArena -- This isn't a software hosting site, it's a portal site that gives links to over 600 freeware downloads, all of which have been screened, sorted, and approved by FreewareArena.
Freewarestop -- Over 200 links. All freeware programs listed on this site are individually tested and evaluated.
Filebasket -- This is a commercial software vendor that nevertheless lists some freeware. The easiest way to find the freeware is to type "freeware" into the search window on the home page.
