Make-Stuff -- When your friends say, "You know you can buy one of those..." do you say, "Yeah, so?" Bluebonnet Village Craft Network -- The purpose of Bluebonnet Village is to provide a craft network where you can find suppliers, kids projects, news, information on crafting and the business of crafting.

American Craft Council Online -- a national, nonprofit educational organization dedicated to fostering an environment in which craft is understood and valued. Founded by Aileen Osborn Webb in 1943, the Council has a distinguished history of innovative programming that has provided a vital base for the emergence of the contemporary craft movement in the United States in the decades since the Second World War.

CraftBits.com -- This site has an impressive, and extensive list of free craft projects.

Bird Cross Stitch Patterns -- Free cross stitch patterns of hummingbirds and other birds, including a bluebird alphabet chart-maker.

AllCrafts -- Craft Projects and Craft Patterns. See each arts and crafts section for free craft patterns, projects, kits and books.

DMC Creative World -- A fairly impressive list of project and craft patterns.

Tutorial -- Basic Afghan stitch.

Fabrics.net -- An information, resource, and referral network. We have been compiling your requests into a one- stop- everything- you- ever- wanted- to- know- about- fabrics, trims, care, embroidery, knitting, and quilting

Main Craft Library -- A momster crafts site from Homeschool Zone.

The Embroidery Resource -- Designs, hints and tips here.

Craftworks -- Publishers portal site, from All American Crafts, with links to their magazines websites: Creative Woodworks & Crafts, Craftworks, Knit 'N Style, PaintWorks, The Quilter, Quick & Easy Painting, and Crochet Fantasy. Visitors have access to their extensive project archives as well.

Craftown -- Free craft patterns, projects and tutorials are available here.

Crafting.com -- A very commercial site, but there's a few free patterns and project plans.

Craftideas.com -- Another publisher's site, for Crafts'nThings, Cross Stitcher, Pack-o-Fun, Painting, 101Bridal Ideas and 101Christmas Ideas. Free Projects, tutorials and tips for craft enthusiasts.

Craft-Antics -- A nice resource for smocking, quilting, and assorted needlecrafts.

Cross Stitch Corner -- This floss conversion chart gives conversions for DMC, Anchor, Semco, J & P Coats and Madeira colors, plus lists all the DMC color names.

The Craft Remedy -- This is a site of great, easy-to-do craft projects that make use of things you have around the home.

Crafters Community -- This is a huge resource with resources on just about any imaginable craft. Really awesome.

Crosstitch.com -- Unique, original cross stitch patterns you print out yourself at home. It's fun, easy, and very inexpensive! (While a few of them are free, or they wouldn't be listed here)

CraftWeb -- Creates the opportunity for professional craftspeople, craft organizations and people interested in crafts to meet, share information and promote fine crafts worldwide.

StarGazer's Craft Index -- A nice collection of craft patterns.

Craft Home & Style -- Home page of the magazine with a projects archive that's available online.

Kathleen M. Dyer -- Counted Cross Stitch, Needlework, and Stitchery Page. Maintained because it allows her to combine three of her passions; needlework, organizing things, and making sure people have the information they need to do a good job. She has no business connections with the needlework industry other than to spend money buying needlework supplies (stash) for herself. This site has the Needlework FAQs, archived material from the rec.crafts.textiles.needlework newsgroup, and an extensive list of needlework links. There are also some online gadgets to help get that next project started.

Projects and Useful Information -- Fairfield, the makers of Poly-fil, have a small list of projects and useful information on their site.

Smithsonian Craft Show -- If you're the sort of crafter who likes to produce your own patterns based on something you've seen that caught your fancy, here's a piece of heaven for you. No patterns, tips, help, or other resources here, but some very cool things to see, from the most prestigious museum in the world. The Smithsonian.

Linda's Crafts Page -- She, and her husband, have a few resources listed for Knitting, Crocheting, Quilting, & Woodworking

Planet Shoup -- Over 100 Free Craft Patterns, Tips and Ideas!

Jana's Craft Connection -- This seems to be a nice resource for crafters.

Yarn Tree -- A few freebies here, but you'll have to scroll down and hunt for them.

Pegasus Originals -- A few embroidery resources and some embroidery related software, some of which is free.

Needlecraft Showcase -- Stitching tips and free chart downloads on the "Free Stuff" page.

Acrylic Craft Yarns -- A wealth of information on yarns here, and a nice sized list of free knitting and crochet patterns.

Free Patterns.com -- The world's most popular source for free patterns. Hundreds of top-quality patterns at the click of your mouse in crafts, crochet, cross-stitch, knitting, plastic canvas, quilting and tatting.

FreePatternsOnline.com -- Free cross stitch and quilt patterns.

Fiber Link -- A site for information about all things related to the fiber arts.

Free Applique Patterns -- Free applique patterns are just waiting for you to print them and cut them out of your favorite materials! The patterns are simple and easy to sew.

Free Craftz Patternz -- Online tole painting patterns, free folk art patterns, free woodworking projects and free craft ideas. Just print the free craft patterns on your printer and begin crafting!

Herrschners Online -- A few nice freebies here.

Craftopia -- A nice site from the folks at HSN TV where you'll find all the projects and kits you'll need to express yourself through a variety of crafts. The link has a complicated URL and that always worries me, so, if the main link goes dead, then go to the main site   http://www.hsn.com   and click on the "Craftopia" link.

I-Craft -- A huge and wonderful resource for all types of craft enthusiasts, from the Hobby Industry Association.

Petit-Point -- Free tutorial.

handcraftersvillage.com -- Free crafts projects and other goodies.

Needlearts -- An online community for enthusiasts of embroidery, quilting, fine and heirloom sewing, spinning, weaving, dyeing, cross-stitch and needlepoint, costuming and tailoring, ribbon-work, knitting, crochet, and all the fiber arts. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, you'll find fascinating people to talk to who share your interests in Needlearts!

Ruby Glen -- Free Needlecraft Projects and Patterns.

StitchGuide.com -- At the time it was listed here, this site was still under construction, but it's on it's way to becoming an excellent resource for a long list of crafts, including crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, knitting and more.

Mary's Craft Corner -- Free crochet patterns, free plastic patterns, free knitting patterns, free beadwork patterns, free needlepoint patterns, recipes,and other resources available to the crafting artist.

Craftfinder.com -- Quick and Easy Knitting & Crochet Patterns. Craftfinder.com is pleased to offer a wide variety (over 80!) hard-to-find knitting and crochet patterns.

Sue's CrochetAndKnitting.com -- A lot of free patterns and information here.

Knitted Threads -- Free Patterns For Crochet, Hand Knit and Machine Knit.

Yarn Lover's Room -- Knitting and crochet patterns, yarn ideas, tips to make your finished project fit better or find and easier way to do what you've been doing. Find out how you can exchange knitting to crochet or vise versa.

Knit, Crochet and More -- A few free patterns, but this site's main aim is teaching and learning.

WiseNeedle -- An Online-resource for Knitters. (There were two Pop-up windows on this site, and I hate that, but they had a fairly nice list of patterns if you don't mind closing the advertising windows, so you can see them)

Joanna's Quilting Page -- A small, high quality, low-fat (meaning no flashy graphics or fancy artwork), quilting resource for the discerning quilter. I really liked this site. Hope you do to.

Quiltshops Cool Tools -- The main page of this site is a little too commercial for me, and I wouldn't have listed them, except for this page, of cool, online tools. Even if you have no need for them, they're interesting to see.

SunbonnetSue.com -- An nice web site, with some nice free blocks and patterns, and some very interesting reading on the history of Sunbonnet Sue.

Quilt-Design.com -- A list of free original quilt patterns on this site. From Norway.

World Wide Quilting Page -- They claim to be "The World's Oldest & Largest Quilting Site". I don't know about that, the oldest site on the web isn't all that old after all, but they have a nice quilting site here.

Quilter's Village -- From McCalls. Plenty of information, learning, and pattern resources here.

piecemakers -- A nice list of free patterns here.

FAQ Answers -- A Source for Quilting Information, Patterns, Tips, and Help.

Sewing Resources

Sewing.org -- An awesome site from the Home Sewing Association. Lots of sewing resources.

sew 2 go -- Technical info on sewing machines, history of sewing machines, threading instructions for antique sewing machines, tutorial on how to appraise your antique machine, restoration tips. Lots of stuff about sewing machines here.

SewingWorld.com -- A huge site with lots of sewing information and goodies, but, you'll have to register to get to them.

Tatting Resources

Sue's Tatting Gallery -- Almost worth visiting just to see the photos, and she has a few free patterns here.

Tattered -- All kinds of information on the art of tatting. It's not lost!

Woodworking Resources

WoodNet -- Tips, Techniques, Tool Reviews and a few other resources.

woodworking.com -- There are a few resources you can get to without a credit card here, but you may have to register to access them.

WoodZone.com -- Articles, tips, and tricks that you can get to without registering. I like that. On the other hand, that's about it for the free resources.

Free Woodworking Plans -- And tons of other resources, all free. You don't have to register either. Over 9000 listing though, so you'll have to use the site search engine to find things.

FreePlans.com -- Free woodworking plans by email, meaning you can't exactly choose what you'll get, and there'll probably be some advertising in your email (that being the ultimate point of the offer) but, you can always unsubscribe if it isn't worth it.
