Cultural Profiles -- This site is intended to inform the Canadian public about different world cultures and encourage them to sponsor immigrants to Canada, but there's a tremendous wealth of information here which you can view online. A terrific resource for learning about different cultures.

Asia Society -- The Asia Society is America's leading institution dedicated to fostering understanding of Asia and communication between Americans and the peoples of Asia and the Pacific. Some interesting information is available online here.

Big Myth -- How do people from different cultures view themselves, the world and their origins? The Big Myth is a new experimental learning module designed for use in European primary school classrooms. It is a sociology textbook for the comparative study of world creation mythology. The myths are told using Flash animation and are accompanied by an overview of the culture, the pantheon of the gods and a series of exercises based on that culture.

Online Conversion -- Convert just about anything to anything else.

Internet and American Life -- The Pew Internet & American Life Project will create and fund original, academic-quality research that explores the impact of the Internet on children, families, communities, the work place, schools, health care and civic/political life.

National Institute on Drug Abuse -- Drugs, and drug abuse are major problems in our society. Learning about the problem offers a means of combating it. Here's a good place to learn.

Knowledge Explorer Center -- The Knowledge Explorer Center provides a rich collection of articles and resources for many areas of interest, including English language, cultural philosophies, gardening, libraries, literature, and nature. Have fun exploring!

Nasa Human Spaceflight -- Nasa has several terrific web sites, each covering a different topic. This is, for me, one of the more intersting. A very cool web site.

Sportapolis -- This site was still under construction at the time it was listed here, so I couldn't determine whether the site's aim, intent, and content, actually belonged on this page, but, from the name, it sounds like it does, so I took a chance on them and listed them "site unseen". If you find that the site is a purely commercial venture, or missing altogether, please let us know.

Technology and Society -- The Center for the Study of Technology and Society, Inc. is a non-profit think tank in Washington, D.C. Through original research and in-depth analysis, the Center examines the interaction of technological change and society.

Oyez Baseball -- "The Law-Baseball Quiz" debuted in the New York Times on April 4, 1979. Created by law professor Robert M. Cover, it compared baseball players and Supreme Court Justices. Unlike Eddie Gaedel, the midget in baseball's most publicized stunt, the Quiz has delighted and stumped enthusiasts on many occasions since it first appeared. Oyez Baseball is an enlarged version of Professor Cover's initial vision. We have simply burnished the metaphor that Professor Cover summoned to describe baseball personalities and justices.
