WinDrivers -- Need a Win 98 driver? They used to be free at windrivers, but that's changed. Still, if you gotta have it, you gotta have it, so i've listed them here. On the other hand, there are a couple of places where you might still find the needed driver for free. Try Cnet or one of the other excellent resources on this page.

The Internet Help Desk -- A free service designed to offer help to both beginning and advanced internet users. You'll find expert tools combined with advice on troubleshooting software and connection problems. This site is dedicated to everyone who has ever heard "I'm sorry, but we don't support that" from their friendly neighborhood help desk.

PCGuide -- This site contains many different kinds of info on PCs. As you go through it, you will no doubt notice that it is rather large in size. There are over 500,000 words of original text on this web site. Within these pages you will find: high-level descriptions of how a computer works; comprehensive tech info on the functioning various parts of a PC; detailed info on system care, protecting your system from viruses, and backups; both general and specific info on troubleshooting and repairing PCs, and more.

The Knowledge Base -- A database of about 4,500 answers to questions about computing at Indiana University. Searches will return entries that contain all the words you enter in the search box.

Shell Extension City -- This site shows you there are plenty of things you can do to improve windows performance. It has a whole bunch of nifty tricks and add-ons that can help you jazz up the original Windows shell. Very helpful site.

Drivers Headquarters -- This site provides links to hardware and software manufactures' web sites. If you cannot find a driver, this is the place for you. They also have a nifty and free software download called driver detective which will tell you your current version of drivers, dlls, and vxds. Using info that it gathered with this program, you can then determine if you need to download the lastest version or if you are already using the current driver.

DriverGuide.com -- This site was created to make finding driver updates a whole lot easier. The approach is community based. With the help of thousands of their members, they have compiled a database of drivers and resources.

Free PCTech Forums -- Offering easy to use, moderated forums to ask your questions and receive help, when you need it.

Ask The Computer Lady -- Elizabeth Boston's site has a terrific ezine with answers to readers questions in every issue.

PuterGeek -- Plenty of information on this site.

AllExperts -- Frequent ezine contributor Irving Stein is one of the helpful volunteers on this terrific computer help site.

24 HourSupport.com -- Got A Tech Question? Chances Are, There's An Answer In Here Somewhere.

Experts Exchange -- Free knowlege-sharing community with 70 message boards. Over 5,000 registered experts for you to ask. You get to score the accuracy of the response for all to see.

Getvirushelp.com -- This web site was created to help people understand today's computer viruses and assist them in cleaning their own systems.

YouOnLine.Net --Whoever heard of free tech support for beginners? You just did! On-line info and their ask a simple question, get a simple answer form. "Very good resource!"

ModemDoctor.Com -- A free 5-star rated, downloadable program for MS-DOS, Windows and Win.95. Modem doctor helps you find and correct many common configuration and installation errors. Simple, menu-driven interface.
